The “Forgetting to Remember” Project is proud to announce a partnership with the Eastville Community Historical Society for its July 2023 events.
From July 1st through July 31st, the “Forgetting to Remember” Exhibition will be on view at the Eastville Community Historical Society. The opening reception will be July 1st, from 1-5 pm. The exhibition will feature original artwork by renowned Sag Harbor artist Michael A. Butler, and thematic panels that commemorate the legacies and stories of enslaved, indentured, and free people of color on the East End.

On Saturday, July 15th, from 1-2:30 pm, a panel talk featuring Donnamarie Barnes, David Rattray, Michael A. Butler, Brenda Simmons, and Georgette Grier-Key will be held on the lawn of the Eastville Community Historical Society. This talk will be free to the public, but registration will be required for this limited capacity event.

On Sunday, July 16th, there will be an encore screening of Forgotten Founders, David Hempstead, Senior, at Sag Harbor Cinema at 11am. The screening will be free to the public, but registration will be required for this limited capacity event. Register to attend using the link below.
