Featuring a Live Solo Guitar Score Accompaniment by Gary Lucas
A bold, scientific creation turns against its master. Mary Shelley’s story of the Modern Prometheus never seemed so current. James Whale’s 1931 adaptation Shelley’s visionary novel, graced by Boris Karloff’s heartbreaking performance behind Jack Pierce’s groundbreaking make up, remains one of the best monster films ever made. A cautionary tale, one should never forget, told through the lens of dramatic lighting influenced by German expressionism.
Starring, alongside, Boris Karloff, Colin Clive, John Boles, Mae Clarke, Edward Van Sloan, Dwight Frye, Frederic Kerr, Lionel Belmore, and Marilyn Harris.
