Join us on Friday, July 31st for an evening that’s equal parts glamour and joy: cocktails at sunset, a sit-down dinner, a spirited silent and live auction, and a night-ending bonfire right on the beach. We’ll be raising a glass to five years of non-stop programming — and honoring the incomparable Bob Shaye, Founder of New Line Cinema.
An early champion of John Waters and European auteur cinema, the visionary executive behind the multiple Oscar winning Lord of the Rings trilogy, a Fulbright scholar and a director in his own right, New Line Cinema founder Bob Shaye brought his passion for combining “high” and “low” to mainstream American cinema. Under his (and Michael Lynne’s) stewardship, New Line gave us Freddy Kruger, hobbits and ninja turtles; auteur hits such as Paul Thomas Anderson’s Boogie Nights as well as Fine Line Features, New Line’s arthouse distribution arm, known for supporting independent works by the likes of Robert Altman, Jane Campion and Jim Jarmush.
